Our preferred identity documentation is the National ID for Ugandan citizens and a passport for foreigners. Other identity documents that are acceptable are a valid Passport or the Driving Permit.
This will only happen on a case by case basis. Exceptional approval will be sought from the Branch Manager after confirming that all finger prints cannot be captured/read by the Biometric reader. After confirmation with the Branch Manager, the physical likeliness of the customer and the scanned IGOR image and signature shall be scrutinised before payment can be effected.
To sensitize the customers about the importance of the biometric registration and encourage customers to enroll for the biometric system before the cut-off date - 15 July 2019. Additionally, they must ensure that the exercise is seamless and only genuine customers are enrolled. After the cut-off date, all customers will only be able to transact across the counter using the Biometric Card Reader.
The physical likeliness of the customer and the scanned IGOR image and signature shall be scrutinized before payment can be effected. There are also outlined and documented guidelines for handling customer transactions when the network or system is unavailable.
This finger print registration project is being implemented to further ensure the safety of our customer’s deposits and to reduce incidences of fraud as a result of impersonation.
