Senior Relationship manager - Trade Finance
Department: Corporate BankingJob description
Business Development and Portfolio Growth
- Drive growth of the Bank’s Trade Finance portfolio by originating and closing new trade finance transactions across Corporate and SME segments.
- Grow the Bank’s off-balance sheet trade finance business, including Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Standby Letters of Credit, and other trade-related instruments, in line with approved growth targets.
- Achieve agreed trade finance loan growth targets through proactive identification, structuring, and execution of trade finance opportunities.
- Mobilize and grow trade finance-related deposits from existing and prospective clients to support balance sheet growth and profitability.
- Actively manage and maintain a healthy pipeline of trade finance opportunities to ensure sustainable business growth.
- Acquire new-to-bank trade finance customers within the Corporate and SME segments and convert identified prospects into active relationships.
- Develop, manage, and deepen relationships with existing trade finance customers through regular engagement, advisory support, and delivery of tailored financial solutions.
- Conduct a minimum of two customer visits annually to at least 80% of assigned top trade finance clients and maintain comprehensive call reports and customer interaction records.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling the Bank’s products and services to maximize wallet share and customer profitability.
- Maintain high service standards and ensure prompt resolution of customer queries, requests, and transaction-related issues.
- Monitor the quality of the trade finance portfolio and ensure portfolio delinquency indicators remain within approved risk appetite levels.
- Maintain the PAR 30+ ratio of the assigned Trade Finance portfolio within the Bank’s acceptable thresholds through proactive monitoring and follow-up.
- Identify early warning signals and implement timely remedial actions to minimize credit losses and non-performing assets.
- Ensure all transactions comply with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, AML/KYC guidelines, and international trade finance standards.
- Support the development, review, and rollout of the Trade Finance Customer Value Proposition (CVP) and related product enhancements on a half-yearly basis.
- Work closely with product, operations, risk, and compliance teams to improve customer experience and enhance service delivery.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for product innovation and business growth.
- Organize and facilitate Trade Finance training sessions for internal stakeholders and business teams at least twice annually.
- Develop and update trade finance training materials and contribute to building trade finance capabilities across the Bank.
- Maintain personal professional development through continuous learning, training attendance, and successful completion of required assessments and quizzes.
- Prepare and submit accurate portfolio, sales, pipeline, customer visitation, and performance reports within agreed service level timelines.

Business Analyst - SME
Department: SME BankingJob description
- In close coordination with Relationship Managers, develop sound and fundable credit proposals that meet credit committee approval requirements and support the growth of the Bank’s on / off Balance Sheet Business and other related revenue streams.
- Evaluate customer needs and propose suitable credit proposal structures for the various (prospective & existing) customers, and collaborate with Relationship Managers to complete quality origination and appraisal of prospective business with the aim of building a quality portfolio and minimizing non-performing assets.
- Make site visits and meet with principals of businesses being considered for credit in order to better understand their businesses, and confirm securities and other pledges where necessary.
- Assess customers for any extra needs and advise Relationship Managers on possible cross-selling and up-selling opportunities to expand wallet-share and develop clients to their full potential
- Ensuring that credit proposition processing and approval is fast and efficient, and is within the agreed Bank customer charter standards, while maintaining high quality work that is measured by the number of approvals against number of rejections/appeals monthly.
- Work with Relationship Managers on maintenance of updated client files, including client performance analysis and financial/commercial information as agreed.
- Receive and resolve customer queries and complaints, and provide sound business advice and quality service.

IT Auditor
Department: Internal AuditJob description
- Assist the Head of Internal Audit to develop the IT Audit plan as part of the Annual Audit Programme.
- Develop appropriate audit tests aimed at addressing identified IT risks and achieving the desired audit objectives to provide assurance that IT risks are effectively managed or mitigated.
- Conducts all assigned audits including planning, evaluating and documenting the results, reporting and follow up in accordance with the annual audit plan.
- Prepare clear and concise audit reports on audit findings, detected non-compliance with bank policies, guidelines, statutory requirements and procedures for discussion with management, and the Head of Internal Audit before final reports are issued for corrective action.
- Regional IT audit engagements: In liaison with Head of Internal Audit, develop a comprehensive assessment of IT risks at assigned Bank of Africa regional banks, plan and conduct IT audits accordingly.
